After 5 years in New York where she developed her third company, the PEPS Lab, which helped physical retailers and brands to accelerate their digital transformation, Catherine Barba is back in France where she created in 2003 the cashback portal Cashshore which was sold in 2010 to the Plebicom group, and in 2005 the e-commerce consulting firm Malinea which was sold in 2012 to the founders of Veepee. In 1996, a pioneer in online advertising, she created and developed the OMD Interactive entity within the Omnicom group. In 1999 she joined the iFrance website as Managing Director to develop the turnover in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Spain. Catherine Barba has written several reference books on the future of commerce, including "Le magasin n'est pas mort". She has invested in many innovative startups such as Leetchi, Retency (analytics in store), Reech (influencer marketing), Popshop (new generation e-commerce), Euveka (2018 CES award winning mannequin technology), Cargo (in-car commerce) or Showfields (next gen physical store). Since 2012, she has been organising events in Paris and New York, the W.IN Forum NY, which aim to bring out a new generation of entrepreneurs, investors and leaders, more feminine and diverse. Catherine Barba has received numerous awards including Woman of Gold in 2011, Alumni of the Year ESCP Europe in 2012, Woman of Economic Influence in France in 2014, the "Inspiring Fifty" award in 2015 and 2016 which distinguishes 50 women from the digital ecosystem in Europe. Catherine Barba is a director of Etam and the Renault Group, and a Knight of the National Order of Merit and the Legion of Honour. She is a graduate of ESCP Europe. She is fluent in French, English, German and Spanish and has a good command of Italian. In 2020, she is a member of the jury of M6's new flagship TV show dedicated to entrepreneurs: Qui veut être Mon Associé (Who wants to be my partner) alongside Marc Simoncini and Frederic Mazzella.
